Who is she?
Dana Carolane is a poet, storyteller, and hopeless romantic with a sharp tongue and a soft heart. Her debut collection, Love, Interrupted, is a raw, unapologetic reflection on heartbreak, healing, and the beautiful chaos in between. Inspired by her favorite artists, Halsey and Taylor Swift, and grounded in lived experience, Dana writes with emotional honesty and lyrical grit—capturing the complexity of grief, love, identity, and survival.
Raised in Florida and shaped by both family roots and personal reckoning, she earned her master’s degree in counseling while navigating the messiness of love and mental health. Her poetry has become a way to make sense of pain, find humor in sadness, and reclaim power in vulnerability.
When she’s not writing, Dana can be found at live shows, dissecting song lyrics, or laughing at an SNL skit. An emo adult who never outgrew the feels, her words speak to anyone who’s loved deeply, lost fiercely, or found themselves somewhere in between—the ones who prefer nose rings over diamond rings.
Love, Interrupted is her first published work—but not her last.
Hope you read it and love it, but if you don’t... as Lola Young’s album says, “This wasn’t meant for you anyway.”
